Daffodil Haiku

Daffodils emerge

bloom, early spring harbinger

gloom of winter doomed

buds held tight, release

shower petals to the wind

kisses of the sun

come green, yellow, chase

brown, grey away, days lengthen

dance in warm spring rain

c.Darlene Moore Berg

Although the calendar states it is still February , I have found daffodils in bloom in several spots around our town.
