A Joyful Noise

Greeted by jubilant song
the mockingbird sings
his unending repertoire
from his high perch
above the morning gathering.

Carried away by his own
exuberance
he spreads his wings,
his balance precarious
from the round top of a flagpole.

Undaunted he resumes
his glorious morning praise.
His song fills the air
with a pure out-pouring of worship.
The congregation joins along.
